2014 has started off with promising signs for Farnham’s retail market

Three prime shops that Wadham & Isherwood are currently dealing with are now under offer with solicitors being instructed.

These being as follows:-

The former Vienna Restaurant is being substantially redeveloped by Hedgehunter (Farnham) to create a ground floor retail showroom of some 630 sq.ft. At first floor level and behind will be two quality residential units.

37 The Borough which was previously occupied by Sports Direct until their lease expired last year has been substantially refurbished by the landlords to provide some 1,200 sq.ft. of retail space situated in an absolutely prime location nearly opposite Castle Street.

44 The Borough which was previously occupied by Thorntons has some 500 sq.ft, of ground floor accommodation plus ancillary and situated in an absolutely prime location has also been substantially refurbished.

Elsewhere in the town Caracoli, the upmarket coffee house and food store, is trading exceptionally well in Lion & Lamb Yard whilst Jigsaw have recently acquired 118 West Street paying a record rental in terms of Zone A.

All this bodes well for the future of the town which is still able to attract specialist retailers who can take advantage of the very high level of category A/B residents that live in the immediate vicinity.
